Ramen Sora
Miso Ramen
I like ramen Sora. I've had it recommended by friends for ages. It is good and really easy to find (the main branch). It's right next to Tanukijoi 5. What I like about the ramen here is how it's really hot, not spicy hot, the temperature hot. I'm not sure how they keep the ramen so hot. Maybe (I'm speculating here) there is a thin layer of hot oil on the top of the soup that they add especially for this purpose. One of my ramen expert friends told me this a few years back and it suddenly came back to me while the soup was burning my face off.
Sora is always busy, so that's a good sign and the price is good, about 800 yen. The most popular dish is the miso soup ramen, so naturally I went for that. I wasn't disappointed. Not the best ramen i've had but I would definitely go back because of it's convenience and good value for money. I probably wouldn't wait if there was a huge line though, which I've often seen. Luckily there was no line when I went here. I hate queuing when I'm hungry. Why Japanese people do that just baffles me.
Sora ramen has also got some other branches around Sapporo and one in Las Vegas(yeah baby!), and thus owning a little piece of my heart. Another plus is that it's open late so perfect for that drunken ramen craving we all get around 3 in the morning. They close at 5 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Check out the Miso!
Address (main branch): South 3 West 5 ground floor on the side of Tanukikoji 5.
