North Island Beer Bar in Sapporo is one of the best places for craft beers. They brew their own, which makes them even tastier and rare. They are a bit pricey, but for a couple of pints of good beer to start the night off, you can't go wrong. There's a good variety to choose from and some can be quite strong. They also have food available, more like snacky types of food as opposed to meals. People come here for the tasty beers. A beer will set you back about 1000 yen each. Pricey, but worth it. Just don't get too wasted otherwise you won't be able to appreciate the delicious beery flavours. I have made that mistake a few times.
It's fairly small inside (see picture below) with mainly counter seats, but there is also an upstairs area with a couple of tables. There's not much of an atmosphere so I usually stay for a couple and then move on. However, this is one of the best bars in town for good craft beer. And there aren't many.
